Stockholm 桜祭り2017Körsbärsblommans Dag

The Hanami, or flower-viewing celebrations, was held at Kungsträdgården on Saturday, April 22nd. While the cherry blossoms were a spectacle of pink…

…Girls and women dressed in Kimonos were such a beautiful sight!

As the people gathered under the cherry blossoms and munched on cute boxes of sushi with chopsticks…

A series of Japanese cultural performances were lined up – Japanese anime fashion show, music, dance, etc!

Even Hello Kitty was around greetings kids!

Each performance was so unique. There was so much grace and poise!

The Kungsträdgården square was brimming with life, energy and joy.

The significance of the cherry blossom tree in Japanese culture goes back hundreds of years. In their country, the cherry blossom represents the fragility and the beauty of life. It’s a reminder that life is almost overwhelmingly beautiful but that it is also tragically short. – Homaro Cantu
